The second LikeMinds 2010 keynote speaker of the day, Sherilyn Shackell, spoke about The Marketing Academy. Here's a summary and our thoughts.-The Marketing Academy attempts to bridge the gap between experienced leaders and the up-and-coming generation.
-The Marketing Academy mascot – Merlin the owl – is on Twitter.
-The Marketing Academy in numbers: 80 mentors, 26 coaches, 28 scholars, 20 days of teaching per year, 6 learning streams.
-It’s about inspiring young people to believe that anything is possible.
-Each scholar is matched to a small charity to impart their knowledge and learning.
-Some ways The Marketing Academy shares the benefits of this learning: The Scholars’ Blog, LinkedIn, Twitter & Facebook.
What we think: The Marketing Academy is doing some great work and we don’t doubt that their scholars will be influential industry leaders in the future.
