What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files which are stored to your computer by your web-browser.
A typical example of how a cookie is used is to store a user ID to make logging in to a site, or ordering something much quicker for the user. An example of what the cookie might contain in this instance would something like "ID=96352398".
Popular sites like Amazon.com use this technique.
Nearly every site on the internet uses Cookies. They are used, for a variety of purposes:
- To personalise pages and remember visitor preferences.
- To analyse visitor behaviour (known as 'analytics')
- To manage items added to shopping carts in online stores
- To track people across websites and deliver targeted advertising

BRONZE
With our BRONZE package we will perform a full site audit to access what optional cookies are being set by your website, and write the audit findings up into an article on your site which explains what they do and why they are being stored.
Our BRONZE package inclues:
- Full site cookie audit (to 1, evaluate all cookies, which are optional and which are functional and 2, produce explanations of cookie functions)
- Creation of / or update to privacy policy page merging in findings of site cookie audit
- Simple explanatory article describing to users what cookies are, and why they are necessary.
SILVER
With our SILVER package we will perform a full site audit to access what optional cookies are being set by your website, and write the audit findings up into an article on your site which explains what they do and why they are being stored. In addition to this we will install a module which places a message that the top of your site informing your site users that by continuing to use the site they consent to having the optional cookies saved to their computer. The message will be shown, until dismissed by the user.
Our SILVER package inclues:
- Site audit (to 1, evaluate all cookies, which are optional and which are functional and 2, produce explainations of cookie functions)
- Implementation of persistant until dismissed user opt-in banner notification at top of screen
- Banner will include a link to a "What are cookies?" article with a simple explanatory article about cookies
- Creation of / or update to privacy policy page merging in finding os the site cookie audit.
- Implementation of simple explanatory article describing to users what cookies are, and why they are necessary.
GOLD
With our GOLD package we will perform a full site audit to access what optional cookies are being set by your website, and write the audit findings up into an article on your site which explains what they do and why they are being stored. In addition to this we will install a module which displays a message that the top of your site giving the user the option to disable optional cookies. Our team of experienced developers will also test the stability of your site with optional cookies disabled.
