When you search for a keyword online, the most prominent results displayed by a search engine are often sponsored adverts. This type of advertising works on a pay-per-click (PPC) basis: companies pay the search provider a small fee every time someone uses the sponsored ad to visit their site. Whilst PPC can yield fantastic results, it’s not for everyone.
